Hello Ivailo? How are you? Are you happy with the results so far in our group and our last official win against the Israel team?
- I’m very well, thank you! I am in the process of preparing for the next match against Slovenia. The results achieved so far with the national team and especially in the new group are more than satisfactory. Especially in the victory against Israel, I think we showed our real capabilities and proved that when we work properly and everyone does what the coach has asked, then things work out!
The coach of Israel said that Bulgaria is the favorite in the group. What do you think about this statement?
- Regarding this statement, I would give my comment after playing the last match in the group against Cyprus.
Next step Slovenia. How is the team? You all work separately, isn’t it hard to put on a really good performance against teams at such a high level?
- I think that for the match with Slovenia, and not only, all the boys try to be in optimal physical condition. It’s hard to work together, with half the players playing abroad, that’s true. But, thanks to the well-prepared and structured camps, we manage to work together and build a good team in a short period of time!
Bulgarian rugby is growing and you already have many supporters from all over the world. Does this put more pressure on us or can we handle it?
- I would not say that the greater popularity and the increase in the number of our supporters would create additional tension for us. Exactly the opposite! Personally, it affects me very well and makes me more and more motivated for each next match and of course - to make an even better match than the previous one! I’d say the other guys have the same effect!
What can we expect on 29.04?
- For everyone who will read what is written, I would say that the only thing they can expect is a nice and athletic game from our team and of course - a convincing victory! Let’s not forget that the Slovenians are the last ones to beat us in an official match, and here in Bulgaria, so we have to pay them back!
